Green Township Adopts Zoning Ordinance Amendments

On September 9, 2024, the Green Township Board of Trustees adopted an ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance. The full text of the amendments is available by clicking below.  The amendments go into effect on the 8th day after the publication of this notice. The amendments modify the Green Township Zoning Ordinance as follows:

 Amend Section 2.1 – Add/edit set of definitions for accessory dwelling units, adult day care, agricultural tourism businesses, bed and breakfast facilities, tourist homes, child care facilities, principal building, cottage industry, escort agencies, farm stays, food trucks, human, rooming house, shipping containers, short term rentals, and wind turbines. Amend Section 3.5 to clarify accessory building regulations and address shipping containers as accessory buildings and to address storage buildings with no principal building. Amend Section 3.20 to clarify Home Occupations and Cottage Industries, Amend Section 5.0 to clarify conflicts between tables. Amend Sections 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, 5.10, and 5.11 to add a list of new permitted and special uses to each district and to add new district use tables and to create new district regulations tables and diagrams for each district. Amend Article 9 to: add Section 9.26 to provide regulations for food trucks; add Section 9.27 to provide regulations for short term rentals; amend Section 9.20 to make changes to wind turbines regulations; add Section 9.28 to provide regulations for Battery Energy Storage Systems; and amend Section 9.24 to make changes to regulations for Solar Energy Facilities and Solar Energy Accessory Panels.
