Michigan Works! Offers Fresh Start
David L was let go from his previous job and was looking for a fresh start in a new industry. He was living on unemployment insurance and wanted to become financially independent once again. To help him with his fresh start, David contacted Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium in Gaylord.
Chelsea, a Michigan Works! Career Navigator, worked one-on-one with David, providing a resume workshop, help with online job search, and assistance with job applications. With Chelsea’s help, David found a new position he could start at immediately that also offered paid training.
David is now an Outside Sales Rep with Northern Home Satellite. David was thankful with the assistance Michigan Works! was able to provide and says he learned that ‘You can never apply to too many positions! Confidence after hitting rock bottom is still important!'
