Discover Northeast Michigan

December 6, 2019 – Fourteen students (6 from Hillman Schools, 8 from Atlanta Schools) toured Munson Healthcare’s Otsego Memorial Hospital, learning about all the different opportunities within the healthcare fields, and the educational requirements to get into those careers. The students toured multiple departments, including the lab, the OB, the nursing home, physical therapy, and the surgical department. Students really enjoyed the tour, especially the birthing room, but wished they had more time to explore and learn about every department more in depth. One student’s feedback stated, “I discovered that there are a lot of careers that are over looked and there are plenty of jobs that need to be filled.”
